During 5-10th August 2019, at the “Emanuel” children’s day centre Emanuel of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Mother of God from Sighet, took place the summer camp for children. This year the theme of the camp was: Rejoice in the Lord!
Pe parcursul celor șase zile cei 140 de participanți au fost îndrumați de surori și de un grup de voluntari români și italieni. Activitățile propuse le-au dat posibilitatea de a-L cunoaște mai bine pe Dumnezeu, de a se cunoaște mai bine pe ei înșiși, de a trăi cu bucurie fiecare moment, de a-și dărui prietenia și de a fi mai apropiați între ei și toți împreună de Domnul, sursa bucuriei noastre.
With joy in their hearts, smiles on their faces and pushed by the desire of new experiences, the children gathered every morning at 9.30. When the children first arrived for the camp, they were welcomed with a moment of prayer through singing and dancing. Afterwards, the children were separated by age, in order to participate at the catechesis. This moment of catechesis plays an essential role in the camp: it helps them deepen their knowledge of God, that this year was made through the study of the Our Father.
The catechesis was followed by games very well prepared by our volunteers. As usual, after lunch, we had the workshops prepared. The children were very pleased with the offer, participating intensely in the work.
During these days, through the proposed activities, the children could rediscover the goodness and the love of God, the simple relationships, the joy of playing and the power of prayer.
We thank God for these days full of grace, the children for participating and involvement and to the volunteers for the joy and energy they offered.
